The Curious Case of the Crazy-Stitch Cardigan

BY MICHELE DuNAIER

The first in a collection of WWI era reproductions, this feminine cardigan is crocheted in the crazy-stitch pattern in vertical rows. The front pieces are made first, then the back pieces, and they are joined with a chain at the front neck, after which the cardigan is worked outward toward the arms.  Both the body and sleeve length may be adjusted to suit with  two options provided for edgings.  A wonderfully versatile sweater, it can be made in any size and is virtually seamless.  The sample shown is crocheted in a cotton/bamboo blend and we think it will be equally lovely is our soft and smooth elann.com Milly Milly DK 100% mercerized wool.
