Psychedelic Squares Afghan: Garter St Version

Psychedelic Squares Afghan: Garter St Version

BY SARAH BRADBERRY
We just love this Den-M-Nit blanket, shown here knit and photographed by Raveler Francieos – it’s mesmerizing! She made it as a wedding gift for a family member, using all four elann Den-M-Nit colors for this lap-sized version, which measures 76 x 132 cm (30″ x 52″) and is made up of 60 squares.  Check out her smaller, 16 square, baby blanket version as well!   It would measure approximately 50 x 50 cm (20″ x 20″), excluding its edging.  Offered as a free pattern on the designer’s website, this version of her Psychedelic Squares Afghan is made up of individual small garter stitch motifs which are then sewn together to make a design of concentric squares. The pattern can be made to any size and is perfect for getting creative with color as Francieos has done.

Note: Den-M-Nit will shrink lengthwise 10-15% and ‘snug up’ in the dryer (just like your favorite pair of jeans).
