Meshing Up the Grid

BY KAREN HEIMBURGER

Worked from the point up, this easy-to-knit shawl features garter stitch grid lines, checkered with mirrored, openwork mesh squares, finished off with a sassy, little tassel. Add a few beads to sparkle up its airy plaid, or keep it plain.  It makes a terrific project for Pure Intonation 4-Ply; the tonal stripes add a subtle, colorful flow.  Our sample shawl is pictured in colorway #707 Blissful Blues, and used every last inch of one skein, so we have included two finished size dimensions, the smaller one representing stopping one repeat earlier, if you find it necessary.
