Emma Stole

“He Loves Me, He loves Me Not.” This stole is inspired by the scene in which Jane Austen’s Emma, playing the age old game of wistful lovers, says “He loves me,” and “He loves me not,” while picking one petal off a flower for each phrase. The stole is rectangular shaped, using a scalloped motif for edging and a flower (ox-eye daisy) motif for the body. It is knit in two pieces and grafted together at the center using Kitchener stitch.
