Washes and fades like your favorite pair of blue jeans – the real thing! Den-m-nit indigo cotton is rope dyed; its dye coats only the surface of the yarn, ensuring that with wear and washing, the yarn’s white core will be exposed, enhancing your garment with a genuine faded jeans look. With darker shades, since the indigo dye is on the surface, color may rub off on your hands and needles. Don’t worry, this surface color washes off easily, but wearing white while you’re knitting or crocheting it, or using pale wooden or bamboo needles is not recommended. Den-M-Nit will shrink by 10-15% in length when dried in a clothes dryer. If your plan is to machine wash and dry your garment like a pair of jeans, just make a few simple adjustments to the length dimensions of your knitting – simply add 10-15% more rows for all length dimensions, and then shrink to fit.
