Airgead

BY  Mona C. NicLeòid

Beautiful lace detailing on the back, and neatly trimmed edges, highlight this lovely summer top.  Knit from the bottom up in the round, the top starts with an i-cord edge and is shaped at the waist with decreases and increases in the side wedges.  At the armholes it is split into front and back, each are finished separately knitted flat. The neckline and armholes are finished with i-cord edges. The garment is meant to be worn with 4-5 cm ~ 2 inches of negative ease around the bust and some positive ease in the waist and around the bottom edge.  Airgead is available in 12 sizes, which are grouped into three sets with slightly different proportions, and the pattern contains detailed advice for individual adjustments, waist and bust shaping.

Airgead uses 503 – 1097 m (550 – 1200 yds) of fingering weight (27-29 sts to 10 cm/4″) yarn and the sample shown is in a Silk and Linen blend.  Make it with 4 – 7 balls of elann.com Joie De Vivre 4-ply (see link below).  Follow our link to Mona’s Ravelry store where she has a detailed sizing and yardage table available.
